Community
Five states, one community: how Igbo Day Festival is organized
Representation from each Igbo state association is central to how the festival is governed and delivered.

The North Carolina Igbo Day Festival Corporation is built on shared ownership by the Igbo-speaking states represented in the Triangle area: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo.
Each state organization is represented by its president, ensuring that every association has a voice in the festival's future.
The coordinator—the president of the current Igbo State Association—leads the year's event with the collaboration of members from the other associations. Volunteers serve on focused committees for planning, communication, medical and safety, logistics, and fundraising.
This rotating structure keeps the celebration rooted in the community and distributes responsibility across all participating states.
Everyone's opinion counts. We respect our elders, welcome new ideas, and endeavor to pass these values to our younger generation.
